I have a web site for you (http://www.txdot.gov/txdot_library/publications/finance/fuel_taxes.htm) which shows that the “gas tax” for roads is abused by diverting 24% to schools. Now If people want to fund schols fine but I view this as a bait an switch and so will not support and “gas tax” increase or any politician that does.
